The mural uses perennial flowers as a metaphor for high school, as we [students] all come back every year. The radial patterns and line drawings grow together to rise up to meet the neighborhood's students, staff, and families.

There is a Garden
It floats on a place called home
From all around and all that is throughout,
Each of different and yet of the same,
We are variety and that makes us shine
Sprouting charm and elegance,
Graceful florescence
warmth in sun kissed leaves
Swaying higher above the trials
showing you our strength
- The Students of George Washington High-school, in Collaboration with teaching artist Llyn. el

Metanoia was painted by teaching artists Llyn.el and Brad Carney, who have taught students in school and after school about radial symmetry using the theme "We the Power" to discuss various themes and projects. This culminating design reflects classroom experiences, community development with SAC meetings, and teacher input.
